Lesson Focus: All About Me Part 1
Creating a Prezi presentation which describes each student: Students will work with a partner to generate ideas that describe themselves, and then fill in a graphic organizer. This graphic organizer will be used in the Part 2 of the lesson to create a Prezi presentation which describes each student. The students will present their Prezi to the class, along with their artistic representation and answer any questions.
Timeframe: (Part 1) 30 Minute period

Outcomes:
Students will communicate effectively and clearly and respond personally and critically.

Mini-lesson:
Explicit Teaching (I Do)
The teacher brainstorms ideas of what describes her by filling in the graphic organizer on the SmartBoard. Example
Groups (We do)
Students verbally brainstorm ideas that describe him/herself, with a partner
Teacher listens to conversations and may ask questions to stimulate the conversation.
(One group at a time will trace their partner's silhouette in preparation for the All About Me Art Lesson).
Independent (I do)
Each student fills in graphic organizer. This can be done by handing out a printed worksheet of the graphic organizer or providing students with a link to access the template. They can use a computer or iPad to fill in the graphic organizer and save it on our class Google Classroom.
Teacher conferences with students who are having difficulty and prompt students who finish quickly to do more by asking questions to help student generate more ideas.
Time to Share
Circle time: Share with the class one thing that describes you.
Differentiation:
· Working with a partner helps students who have difficulty reading and/or understanding the content.
Enrichment: Add more information to graphic organizers
